</span></strong></h4>

¡Busque su programa <a href="https://childcare.ececd.nm.gov/search" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>aquí</strong></span></a>!</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>

Families need care, but aren’t always sure where to look. Meanwhile, providers may have openings, but no time or money for paid advertising or community outreach.</p>
<p>Luckily, that matchmaker has arrived! If you’re looking to enroll new families, or just want access to free program management software, the <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://childcare.ececd.nm.gov/search" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Mexico Child Care Finder</a></span></strong> can help. The child care finder is a search tool for New Mexico families looking for care. As a provider, it can help you connect with nearby families, and also gives you access to FREE program management software available to all New Mexico providers.</p>
<p>It all starts with claiming your program’s page on the finder. And there’s good news: if your program is licensed or registered by the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD), you already have a basic page. Go ahead and look up your program, <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://childcare.ececd.nm.gov/search" target="_blank" rel="noopener">right here</a></span></strong>! We’ll wait.</p>
<p>That basic page is a good start, but it won’t have any details about your program philosophy, the types of activities you offer, or anything else that makes your program unique. When you claim your page, you can add those details, plus photos and anything else that helps you tell your program story. Pages that have been claimed and customized come up higher in the results when families search for care, so it’s a free and easy way to bring attention to your program.</p>
<p>Ready to get started? We’ll walk you through it!</p>
<p><em><strong>Before you start</strong>, you’ll need the address of your program, your program’s license or registration number (issued to you by ECECD), and a valid email address that you can use to start your account.</em></p></div><div class="x-text x-content e1537-e5 m16p-e m16p-f m16p-g"><h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Step 1: Find your program and click “Claim this account”<br />
</span></strong></h4>
<p>The easiest way to get started is to visit the <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://childcare.ececd.nm.gov/search" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Child Care Finder tool</a></span></strong>, and search for your program. Click on your program to open your page, and then scroll to the bottom and click on “Claim this account.”</p></div><span class="x-image e1537-e6 m16p-i"><img decoding="async" src="https://futuresnm.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Screenshot-1.jpg" width="896" height="881" alt="Image" loading="lazy"></span><div class="x-text x-content e1537-e7 m16p-e m16p-f m16p-g"><h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Step 2: Create an account<br />
</span></strong></h4>
<p>You’ll be prompted to create an account with Wonderschool, the company that runs the child care finder. You’ll enter an email address, as well as some other basic information such as your name.</p></div><div class="x-text x-content e1537-e8 m16p-e m16p-f m16p-g"><h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Step 3: Customize your page<br />
</span></strong></h4>
<p>Once you’ve created an account, you’re in! You’ll see the Wonderschool main page, which includes tools like menu planning and payment tracking (more on those later!). For now, it’s time to customize your program page. Start by clicking on “Grow your enrollment,” near the sunshine icon at the top of the page. This will take you to a section where you can fill in your program philosophy, information on your daily schedule, quotes from satisfied families, or anything else you want families to know about your program. You can also fill in whether you are full or are enrolling new children in different age groups, so families can easily see whether you have a spot for them. Pages that are more complete give families a clearer understanding of why they should choose your program.</p></div><span class="x-image e1537-e9 m16p-i"><img decoding="async" src="https://futuresnm.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Screenshot-2.jpg" width="1195" height="836" alt="Image" loading="lazy"></span><div class="x-text x-content e1537-e10 m16p-e m16p-f m16p-g"><h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Step 4: Verify with your license number<br />
</span></strong></h4>
<p>As you fill in program details, you’ll be asked for your program’s license or registration number. Make sure this is accurate and up-to-date, because Wonderschool uses this number to verify your claim on your program. If you have any trouble with the process, you can ask for support by clicking on the question mark in the bottom right corner of the page.</p></div><span class="x-image e1537-e11 m16p-i"><img decoding="async" src="https://futuresnm.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Screenshot-3.jpg" width="1201" height="838" alt="Image" loading="lazy"></span><div class="x-text x-content e1537-e12 m16p-e m16p-f m16p-g"><h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Step 5: Explore other FREE features<br />
</span></strong></h4>
<p>Once you create your Wonderschool account, you have free access to Wonderschool’s other business management tools. The software can help you manage enrollment, plan meals that meet the requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program, or track billing and payments. If any of that sounds like it could help you stay organized, it’s free to New Mexico providers.</p></div><div class="x-text x-content e1537-e13 m16p-e m16p-f m16p-g"><h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Step 6: Keep your page updated<br />
</span></strong></h4>
<p>Wonderschool will send you regular reminders to update your enrollment information and other details about your program that might change over time. Pages that have been recently updated show up higher in search results, to match families with providers who are actively using the child care finder to fill slots.</p></div></div></div></div></div><div class="x-section e1537-e19 m16p-0 m16p-2"><div class="x-row e1537-e20 m16p-3 m16p-4 m16p-6 m16p-9"><div class="x-row-inner"><div class="x-col e1537-e21 m16p-c"><div class="x-row e1537-e22 m16p-4 m16p-5 m16p-6 m16p-a"><div class="x-bg" aria-hidden="true"><div class="x-bg-layer-lower-image"></div></div><div class="x-row-inner"><div class="x-col e1537-e23 m16p-c"><div class="x-text x-content e1537-e24 m16p-d m16p-e m16p-h">Ready to get started?
Puedes solicitarlo </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://www.nmececd.org/new-mexico-grown/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">aquí</a></strong></span><span> y consultar la lista de </span><a href="https://newmexicogrown.org/news/2024/cacfp-grant-applications-now-available/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>alimentos y proveedores aprobados</strong></span></span></a><span>.
<p><span>Cooking for young kids can be </span><a href="https://momentsnm.org/2022/11/17/holiday-meals-with-kids-can-be-fun-we-promise/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>challenging</strong></span></span></a><span>. Cooking for a big group of young kids, while meeting federal nutrition standards and serving local foods? It may not be easy, but there’s help! The New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) has trainings, recipes, and a </span><a href="https://www.nmececd.org/new-mexico-grown/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>grant program</strong></span></span></a><span> for buying locally—all designed to help you serve the great food </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://www.lonelyplanet.com/articles/red-or-green-new-mexico-food" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Mexico is known for</a></strong></span><span>, while following the rules of the federal </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://www.fns.usda.gov/cacfp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Child and Adult Care Food Program</a></strong></span><span> (CACFP).</span></p>
<p><span>Just what is CACFP? If your program doesn’t already participate, here’s what you need to know: Child care providers (both centers and homes) can be reimbursed for meals and snacks they serve to children in their care. The program requires some organization and planning, since meals and snacks have to meet federal nutrition guidelines, and reimbursement is based on daily logs of food served and children in attendance. </span></p>
<p><span>That’s where Jerome Samuel comes in. Jerome is a CACFP compliance officer, which means he checks to make sure New Mexico programs are meeting CACFP guidelines, while offering support and training. Jerome also has more than a decade of experience working in kitchens, and has developed a collection of recipes that use New Mexico-grown ingredients, comply with CACFP rules, and incorporate traditional New Mexico cooking styles. The cuisine reflects Jerome’s dual identity as both Hispanic and a member of the Pueblo of Tesuque, and he is passionate about sharing that knowledge with child care providers and the children in their care. </span></p>
<p><span>“It means a lot to me to be able to give back, and pass along my knowledge and experience and my care, not only care, but my passion for food and the art of cooking,” Jerome said. </span></p>
<p><span>OK, so what foods and techniques does Jerome recommend? First, providers should know about a program called </span><a href="https://www.nmececd.org/new-mexico-grown/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>New Mexico Grown</strong></span></span></a><span>, which reimburses child care providers for serving food grown or raised in New Mexico. These grant funds are on top of the reimbursement providers already receive through CACFP, to make it easier to serve </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://newmexicogrown.org/news/2024/cacfp-grant-applications-now-available/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">foods</a></strong></span><span> that are fresh and locally in-season. You can apply for New Mexico Grown </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://www.nmececd.org/new-mexico-grown/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a></strong></span><span>, and explore lists of </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://newmexicogrown.org/news/2024/cacfp-grant-applications-now-available/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved foods and vendors</a></strong></span><span>. New Mexico Grown is currently offered only to child care centers, with a pilot program underway for child care homes. </span></p>
<p><span>Next, you can explore Jerome’s first batch of recipes, designed to use approved New Mexico Grown foods, comply with CACFP standards, and to be delicious! </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://www.nmececd.org/family-nutrition-bureau-materials-library/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Follow this link</a></strong></span><span>, then click on the folder that says “NM Grown” to find Jerome’s recipes as well as other resources about the program. And check back regularly! Jerome is planning to release new recipes for different seasons, and ECECD is working to add new information to the recipes, such as details about which CACFP requirements are fulfilled by each one. </span></p>
<p><span>Jerome’s recipes range from no-cook snacks (e.g. watermelon blueberry salad or caprese skewers) to full meals like bison ribs and ratatouille. Each recipe indicates the items that can be purchased with New Mexico Grown funds, and was developed with busy child care providers in mind. For example, the collection includes instructions for blanching vegetables, which Jerome recommends as a strategy to speed up meal prep while serving vegetables that are cooked just right. What is blanching, exactly? It’s a technique for partially cooking vegetables in advance, then putting them in ice water to halt the cooking process. When you’re ready to serve the vegetables, they’ll cook faster while keeping their flavor and texture—which could make a big difference if you’re rushing to feed hungry kids. </span></p>
<p><span>And will kids actually eat these local, tasty foods? Jerome said in his experience, kids will sometimes try things in their care setting that they wouldn’t try at home. It also helps to eat family style, meaning the adults eat with the children and eat the same foods (for general advice on introducing unfamiliar foods to young children, check out </span><a href="https://momentsnm.org/2022/11/17/holiday-meals-with-kids-can-be-fun-we-promise/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>our interview with a New Mexico nutritionist</strong></span></span></a><span>). Jerome said introducing children to local, traditional meals and snacks can help them build healthy habits and a palate for high-quality food. </span></p>
<p><span>“To me, it’s amazing to see with this whole program that we’re providing good, healthy meals and produce for them to try,” Jerome said. </span></p></div></div><div class="x-col e1510-e9 m15y-8"><div class="x-row e1510-e10 m15y-2 m15y-3 m15y-4 m15y-7"><div class="x-bg" aria-hidden="true"><div class="x-bg-layer-lower-image"></div></div><div class="x-row-inner"><div class="x-col e1510-e11 m15y-8"><div class="x-text x-text-headline e1510-e12 m15y-c"><div class="x-text-content"><div class="x-text-content-text"><h3 class="x-text-content-text-primary"><span style="color: #705bb7;">Learn more about New Mexico Grown <a href="https://www.nmececd.org/new-mexico-grown/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><span style="color: #705bb7; text-decoration: underline;">here</span></strong></span></a>, or follow </span><span style="text-decoration: underline; color: #705bb7;"><strong><a href="https://www.nmececd.org/family-nutrition-bureau-materials-library/" target="_blank" style="color: #705bb7; text-decoration: underline;" rel="noopener">this link</a></strong></span><span style="color: #705bb7;"> to explore Jerome’s recipes!</span></h3>

<p><span>At the Walatowa Head Start at Jemez Pueblo, all the teaching happens in the Towa, or Hemish, language. The program is </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://www.the74million.org/zero2eight/for-some-tribal-communities-head-start-programs-provide-a-cultural-lifeline/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recognized nationally as a leader</a></strong></span><span> in sustaining Tribal culture through early learning, with curriculum that was </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://headstart.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/making-it-work-section-03-pilot-program-examples.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">specially developed</a></strong></span><span> to meet Head Start standards through Hemish traditions. Jacqueline Toledo-Magdalena has taught there for more than 25 years, and she said the Pueblo benefits when young children learn their language.</span></p>
<p><span>“It makes us stronger as a community,” said Jacqueline, who is featured as part of New Mexico’s </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://futuresnm.org/all-profiles/#jacqueline">Developing Futures</a></strong></span><span> campaign. By teaching young children the Hemish language, which is only spoken on the Pueblo, Jacqueline and her colleagues can help ensure the language thrives well into the future. This is especially important because </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/02/25/1233819688/the-race-to-save-indigenous-languages" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most Indigenous languages in North America are considered endangered</a></strong></span><span>, with a shrinking pool of people who speak and understand them. By passing them on to children, Indigenous early childhood professionals can </span><a href="https://www.hiltonfoundation.org/news/preserving-indigenous-culture-through-language-in-early-childhood-development/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>make a major impact</strong></span></span></a><span> on both the children they teach, and the future of their language and traditions.</span></p>
<p><span>New Mexico needs more early childhood professionals like Jacqueline—especially those with knowledge of Native languages. As a special thank-you to bilingual early childhood professionals, New Mexico offers </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/bilingual-incentive/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a one-time, $1500 bonus</a></strong></span><span> to early childhood professionals who demonstrate fluency in two languages. To qualify for the bonus, professionals who speak Tribal languages can </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/bilingual-incentive/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">document their skills</a></strong></span><span> with a certificate or letter from their Tribal government. </span></p>
<p><span>In addition, New Mexico’s </span><a href="https://www.nmececd.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/ECECD-Strategic-Plan-FY-22-27_AUGUST-2024-REVISIONs.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>early childhood strategic plan</strong></span></span></a><span> includes a goal of supporting 500 Indigenous early childhood professionals to earn certificates and degrees in higher education.

<h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Apoyos y Redes</span></strong></h4>

<h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Aumenta tus ingresos</span></strong></h4>
Estos incluyen <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/wage-supplement/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suplementos salariales</a></span></strong> generales y programas específicos para educadores de <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/wage-parity-information/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PreK</a></span></strong>, <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/head-start-parity-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Head Start</a></span></strong> y <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/infant-toddler-pay-parity-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bebés y niños pequeños</a></span></strong>.

We even have a <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://futuresnm.org/">whole campaign</a></span></strong> celebrating the profession! All those resources and more are also available to our state’s Spanish-speaking professionals, and we’ve rounded up a list of programs and places to start.</span></p></div><div class="x-text x-content e1462-e5 m14m-9 m14m-a m14m-b"><h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Training and Education<br />
</span></strong></h4>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.nmececd.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/New-Mexico-Qourm.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Quorum</a></span></strong>, the state’s FREE training service for early childhood professionals, offers all its trainings in Spanish. Through Quorum, you can get the health and safety trainings that are required before you start working in certain early childhood jobs, as well as topics including child development, assessment, curriculum implementation, and more! Read more about Quorum <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.nmececd.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/New-Mexico-Qourm.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a></span></strong> (scroll down for Spanish), or start your free account <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://teachingstrategies.com/lp/quorum-learning/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a></strong></span>.</p>
<p>If you’re seeking a new college degree or certificate, New Mexico also offers key early childhood courses in Spanish. Offerings vary across the state, so check with the colleges or universities near you to see what is offered. Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) offers <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.cnm.edu/programs/cnm-my-way/bilingual-programs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">an entire early childhood associate degree pathway</a></span></strong> in Spanish, with English support classes along the way to build your English skills while you learn core content in Spanish. Plus, Santa Fe Community College offers its <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.sfcc.edu/programs/early-childhood-education/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">early childhood courses</a></span></strong> in Spanish. Many of these classes can be taken online from anywhere in the state. You can also transfer early childhood credits across different colleges, if you want to combine in-person courses in your community with online courses offered in Spanish on another campus.</p>
<p>Finding time in your busy life for college courses or training may be hard, but paying for it is easy in New Mexico thanks to a variety of scholarships (see our whole blog on this, <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://futuresnm.org/thinking-of-going-to-school-for-early-childhood-well-get-you-started/" rel="noopener">here</a></span></strong>). Plus, New Mexico’s <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/scholarship-information/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">early childhood scholarship</a></span></strong> comes with a helpful human guide! If you apply for any of the state’s early childhood support programs, you’ll be matched with a coach to help with any questions or challenges that come up for you in accessing the programs. They have a Spanish-speaking <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/who-is-my-scholarship-coach/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">coach</a></span></strong>, so you’ll be able to talk with someone who speaks your language if you need to.</p>

<h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Supports and Networks<br />
</span></strong></h4>
<p>Early childhood professionals spend a lot of their time with children, who are pretty amazing. But sometimes it’s nice to talk to a fellow adult. That’s why ECECD has organized networks, where early childhood professionals can talk about their successes and challenges, compare experiences, and support each other with resources and advice. ECECD supports <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.ecnetworks.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">networks</a></span></strong> for infant-toddler teachers, directors of early childhood programs, and home-based child care providers. These networks are all conducted bilingually or have Spanish-speaking cohorts.</p>

<h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">Boost Your Earnings</span></strong></h4>
<p>Multilingual professionals bring an <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://www.acf.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ecd/DualLanguageLearnerBrief_ProDev-20240523-508.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">extremely valuable skill to their work</a></strong></span>. New Mexico’s children and families speak many languages, and early childhood professionals who can communicate in those languages are especially well positioned to connect with and successfully serve families and children. To recognize this, New Mexico offers a <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/bilingual-incentive/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one-time payment</a></span></strong> of $1,500 to early childhood professionals who demonstrate they are bilingual. Applications for this program are closed as of February 2025 but are expected to reopen in July 2025.</p>
<p>Finally, New Mexico has a number of programs in place to help early childhood professionals boost their earnings. These include general <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/wage-supplement/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wage supplements</a></span></strong> and specific programs for <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/wage-parity-information/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PreK</a></span></strong>, <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/head-start-parity-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Head Start</a></span></strong>, and <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/infant-toddler-pay-parity-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">infant-toddler</a></span></strong> educators. These programs are not specifically for Spanish speakers, but you can apply for them in Spanish and a Spanish-speaking <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://ececdscholarship.org/who-is-my-scholarship-coach/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">coach</a></span></strong> can help you with any questions or challenges.</p></div></div></div></div></div></div>

<p><span>You learn a lot working as an early childhood professional. You learn things about what happened on the latest episode of Bluey, and about effective ways to calm an upset toddler during a transition. You also learn things like how to fill out licensing paperwork correctly, or what kinds of milk can be reimbursed by the federal food program. That’s a lot of valuable knowledge and expertise, and it’s a shame not to share it with others facing many of the same questions and challenges. Luckily, New Mexico provides opportunities to do just that. From casual networks for shared learning to more formal mentorships, we’ve rounded up opportunities for New Mexico’s early childhood professionals. Most of these applications open on April 1, so check them out soon!</span></p></div><div class="x-text x-content e1444-e5 m144-9 m144-a m144-b"><h4><strong><span style="color: #705bb7;">For All Early Childhood Professionals</span></strong></h4>
<p><span><span style="color: #705bb7;"><strong></strong></span>New Mexico’s <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://www.ecnetworks.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Early Childhood Networks</a></strong></span> are designed to create a sense of community in the profession. Early care and education professionals often spend their days mostly with children or with colleagues at their own program. This means they may have few opportunities to learn from other professionals or discuss strategies for approaching shared challenges. New Mexico offers programs (with stipends!) for professionals to have those valuable discussions. Here’s an overview of the Early Childhood Network programs:<br />
</span><span></span></p>

<ul>
 	<li aria-level="1"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.ecnetworks.org/infant-toddler-teacher-network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><b>Infant-Toddler Teacher Network</b></a></span><b>: </b><span>As the name suggests, this network is for care and education professionals who work with children up to 36 months. Providing care to the youngest children is an essential specialty in early childhood, and the network offers a supportive community to meet other infant-toddler teachers, earn professional development hours, and receive a $40 stipend for each monthly meeting you attend. Network meetings are conducted in English and Spanish. Learn more </span><a href="https://www.ecnetworks.org/infant-toddler-teacher-network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>here</strong></span></span></a><span>.</span></li>
</ul>
<ul>
 	<li aria-level="1"><a href="https://www.ecnetworks.org/early-childhood-home-based-provider-network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Home-Based Provider Network</span></b></a><b>: </b><span>In this network, home-based providers or professionals thinking of starting a home-based care business can share resources and ask questions. Topics include the </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="https://futuresnm.org/want-to-start-a-home-based-child-care-in-new-mexico-start-here/">paperwork and approvals</a></strong></span><span> required to start a home-based care business, plus professional development and chances to connect with other providers. The network is conducted in English and Spanish, with $40 stipends for each monthly meeting attended. </ul>
<ul>
 	<li aria-level="1"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.ecnetworks.org/early-childhood-director-network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><b>Director network</b></a></span><b>: </b><span>Running an early childhood program is a tough job, with distinct challenges as well as joys. The Early Childhood Director Network creates a place for program leaders to learn together, discuss approaches to common challenges, and connect with other professionals with similar roles. Network meetings are held in English and Spanish, with a $40 stipend for each monthly meeting attended. <h4><span style="color: #705bb7;"><b>For Advanced Professionals</b></span></h4>
<p><span>If you want to share your expertise and earn some extra money, serving as a mentor or network leader may be a good fit. Here’s a quick rundown of roles and opportunities: </span></p>

<ul>
 	<li aria-level="1"><span style="color: #178ab2;"><b>Mentor:</b></span><span> Early childhood mentors support and guide the next generation of early childhood professionals. You’ll be trained and certified in the mentorship process, and there are virtual and in-person options for serving as a mentor. The time commitment is 5-10 hours per week, and mentors can receive stipends of up to $1000 per semester for their time and expertise. Mentors must have at least an associate degree in early childhood and three years of experience. Interested? Learn more and start your application </span><a href="https://www.ecnetworks.org/early-childhood-mentor-network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>here</strong></span></span></a><span><span><span>.<br />
<br />
</span></span></span></li>
 	<li aria-level="1"><span style="color: #178ab2;"><b>Lead Mentor:</b></span><span> A lead mentor organizes and supports the other mentors, who meet regularly to discuss their experiences and problem-solve together. This role requires a time commitment of 5-15 hours per week, including initial interviews and a training program. Lead mentors receive a stipend of $1,500 per semester. Does this sound like you? Get started </span><a href="https://www.ecnetworks.org/early-childhood-lead-mentor/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>here</strong></span></span></a><span>. </span></li>
</ul>
<ul>
 	<li aria-level="1"><span style="color: #178ab2;"><b>Network Lead:</b></span><span> Each Early Childhood Network program has a leadership position. The Network Lead role has a time commitment of about 5-15 hours per week and a stipend of $1500 per semester. Duties involve planning and facilitating network meetings, and Leads attend a summer training and leadership retreat to prepare them for the role. <h4><span style="color: #705bb7;"><b>For Newer Professionals</b></span></h4>
<p><span>If you’re new to the field and wondering how to get support from a mentor, </span><b>you can apply to be a mentee</b><span>. If you’re enrolled in an early childhood higher education program, you can be matched with a mentor as part of your practicum process. Talk with your faculty advisor about whether it’s the right time in your program to apply. Or! If you aren’t in school but are a new teacher working in an early childhood setting, you can still apply for a mentor. You’ll need a letter from your supervisor recommending you for mentorship. Mentees receive stipends for time spent on the mentorship process, and in-person or virtual support to help deepen their early childhood knowledge and skills.
